Teacher Training centre receives ICT based equipment

The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports has handed approximately 380 ICT equipment to all 38 Teacher training colleges at the ceremony organised at the < ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Presbyterian Training College in Ghana. Each college has received 10 computers with accessories.< ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

According to the Deputy Minister for Education, Science and Sports, Angelina Baiden-Amissah praised President J A Kufuor for giving approval for the use of Ghana's accumulated funds from the UNESCO coupons scheme to purchase the ICT equipment for the colleges. The aim of ICT education policy is to develop and drive Ghana's information and knowledge based economy and society. The policy would also help in raising the quality of teaching and learning through the use of ICT. The Akuapmen North DCE, Edward Adu Aboagye, announced that the District Assembly in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication, has set up two community information centres equipped with ICT facilities at Akropong and Abiriw.
