Karnataka Government (India) requests IT firm to donate 100 computers

The State Government has requested IT companies to donate computers to Karnataka government, India.

Karnataka Government has requested information technology companies to donate 1000 computers to government, aided and unaided colleges by offering job-oriented courses. Recently, Infosys Technologies Limited has donated 100 computers to the Government worth of INR 35,79,200. According to Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Basavaraj S. Horatti, several government and aided colleges are offering job-oriented courses for students. Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) is coordinating with IT firms to get 1000 computers. The Education Department was considering recruiting over 5,000 candidates for the post of teacher for job-oriented courses.
