NKS suggests Indian Govt. to set knowledge electronic centre

The National Knowledge Commission of India has suggested that Indian Government should set up a national knowledge electronic network with 1 GB bandwidth touching 5,000 locations of the country.

This network will use the existing optic fibre cable network to connect libraries, laboratories, research & development centres across the country. NKC has asked the planning commission for INR 100 million to implement the national knowledge electronic network. The chairman of NKC, Sam Pitroda, said that portal for teacher should be formed, which will enable further interaction.
