Students exchange programme starts between IIM-B and Paris-based HEC

On Saturday, the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIM-B ) and Paris-based HEC School of Management (HEC) told that they have started a student exchange programme called HEC-IIMB (Hiep). Under this programme, 20 students from each of the institute will visit India and France and work jointly on projects of mutual interest. IIMB Director Pankaj Chandra told that the initiative aims to increase the size of the institute in measure of the programmes being offered to make the institute a top international research school which focuses on all kinds of emerging economies. To kick start the exchange programme, IIMB said that some fourteen students of HEC who work as executives across number of industries came to IIMB and visited number of companies such as Infosys and Biocon. In exchange , a batch of fourteen students of IIM-B will visit France in December this year and will be exposed to business environment in Europe.

Meanwhile, IIM-BDirector Chandra who is also member of the Yashpal committee which is looking into the revamp of higher education in the country said that the process for replacing UGC, All India Council for Technical Education and National Council for Teacher Education by the proposed National Commission for Higher Education and Research (NCHER) was discussed on Saturday and the proposed measures will come out soon.
