IBM and NIIT launch training programs in IBM Technologies

NIIT, the leading Global Talent Development Corporation and Asia's largest IT trainer, and IBM have entered into a global alliance to offer cutting edge training programs in IBM technologies. Through this strategic partnership, NIIT will offer training programs on IBM's CEIS (Career Education in IBM Software) framework, customized for NIIT. Initially training will be offered on Curriculum from the Rational Brand that deals with software testing and quality assurance. The partnership will be extended in successive phases to other platforms of IBM like: Database Administration, E- Business System Administration, Enterprise Collaboration and Enterprise IT Management. NIIT will offer these training programs across key markets in India. The courses will be offered as modular skill-building programs as well as specialized job-oriented diploma programs. These highly-specialized training courses will be offered across 100 NIIT centres within a year. In the next phase, these courses will also be offered in Asia- Pacific countries. Speaking at a press conference in the capital, Vijay K. Thadani, Chief Executive Officer, NIIT, remarked 'We are pleased to announce NIIT's partnership with IBM today. This presents an opportunity to combine our 28 years of skill-building experience with IBM's proven technologies, to create talent for the industry globally. Software testing and Quality Assurance is a critical segment of the software industry. Hence, we will start training people in IBM's Rational suite and extend to other IBM Technologies.'

The Indian testing service providers are fast moving up the value chain by providing high quality service, and at same time maintaining their price competitiveness.
