Collaboration between Vietnam and Ireland for ICT and education

Conor Lenihan, the Irish Minister for Science, Technology, Innovation and Natural Resources mentioned recently, that future may see a potential coordination between Ireland and Vietnam for integration of  information and communication technology (ICT) and education. Lenihan added that software industry from Ireland has been considering the Vietnamese market as an opportunity to increase their global reach, particularly in Asia.

Micheal Garvey, ASEAN regional director for Enterprise Ireland, an Irish Government trade and technology agency, mentioned while agreeing with Lenihan that Vietnam was becoming a popular base for Irish companies who were setting up regional operations in Asia. Currently, Vietnam and Ireland are implementing a cooperative program called the Vietnam-Ireland Business Forum (VIBF), which aims to encourage partnerships between private sector companies in both Vietnam and Ireland.
