The Indian School hosts Malhaar

The Indian School, Sadiq Nagar has hosted the annual music and dance festival ‘Malhaar’. Schools from across Delhi and NCR participated in various competitions. Tagore International School, East of Kailash grabbed the first runner-up trophy. Chief guest, HE Carlos Duarte, Ambassador of Brazil and guests of honour, Padmashree Geeta Chandran and Renu Sharma, deputy director of education, south graced the occasion. Principal Rashi Narula gave the vote of thanks.

Carmel Convent School, Chanakyapuri hosted ‘Impressionante’, a part of the ten day founder’s day celebration. The event hosted activities such as debate, quiz, dramatics and book discussion. The judges for the junior category fancy dress contest were actor and voice over artist Andrew Hoffland and theatre personality Vidhushi Mehra. Assistant professor Jesus and Mary College, Sukhpreet Kahlol, and theatre personality Pranab Mukherjee were the judges for the senior category. Carmel Convent School bagged the first prize for graphic designing, Springdales, Dhaula Kuan bagged the winner’s trophy in debate, and St Francis de sales was declared the winner in Nukkad Natak. The principal Sr Nirmalini proposed the vote of thanks.

A presentation of club activities, ‘Vibgyor’, was held at the Bal Bharati Public School, Brij Vihar. Kriti , an exhibition of art & craft welcomed the visitors. The theatre club presented ‘pidhio ka antar’, a skit on generation gap. Thematic presentations on HIV were displayed by the health club. Interact club, in association with an NGO, Goonj, displayed projects on the theme ‘best out of waste’.

DAV Public School, Sreshtha vihar was given the ‘Best E-School award’ in the area of multipurpose learning and teaching through IT. The school received the Digital Learning Educational Award 2012 in the World Education Summit – 2012. Prem Lata Garg, principal and Ashok Kumar Goel, IT incharge were awarded with a trophy and recognition letter by Subodh Kant Sahai, minister of tourism.
