Punjab dismisses 8 teachers for absenteeism

The government has a zero tolerance policy towards teachers’ absenteeism and the action was taken in accordance with the policy

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has suspended eight teachers, working in different secondary schools of the state for remaining absent from their duties for long.

State Director General School Education (DGSE) S. Kahan Singh Pannu said the government has a zero tolerance policy towards teachers’ absenteeism. And the action were taken in accordance with this policy, he added.

The recently has dismissed eight teachers for remaining absent in the school for long period.

The state department had also strictly instructed the District Education Authorities to ensure regular attendance of school teachers. Absentee teachers were also notified prior to this.

The teachers who were dismissed from services following their long leave from work include: Sunita Rani, Satish Kumar, Rajinder Pal Singh, Nirpojit Singh, S S Master, Mandip Kaur,  Jatinder Veer Singh, Jaswinder Kaur, and Gurpinder Singh.
