Ahmedabad: Gujarat state chief Narendra Modi will inaugurate Lakulish Yoga University, which is going to be the first ever such private sector self-financed institution in the country, on May 23, at Ahmedabad.

It has been set up by the Surendranagar-based Life Mission Trust.

The University will offer a full-fledged three-year degree course that will be spread over six semesters.

Admissions will be open on the inauguration day, and academic session is likely to start from June 15.

The course includes subjects of Ashtang Yoga, karma, knowledge, Bhakti Yoga, philosophy, psychology, anatomy, ayurveda and naturopathy.

Yoga is an ancient Indian practice that focuses on physical, mental, and spiritual health of an individual.

In today’s stressful life, it has gained popularity worldwide, for its health benefits.
