Schools have decided to introduce innovative means to provide their students with exclusive integrated school programme, after CBSE asked them to stop conducting such courses that interfere with the regular syllabus. The new procedure would include coaching classes before or after school hours. CBSE had earlier stated that conducting coaching classes for students is not approved by the board.
G Devan, principal, Saraswathi Vidyaniketan School, Elamakkara, stated that school has tied up with FIIT-JEE to provide IIT coaching only after or before school hours or during holidays. Devan added that this additional preparation is not for profit as the school charge standard fees to help students for their entrance examinations. However, some schools that are not involved in such tie-up with private coaching centers have expressed concern as they feel that the practice is undertaken to attract enrollment.
