IIM Bangalore’s faculty to be honoured with Teaching Innovator Award 2016

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has selected Prof P C Narayan of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore – A faculty from the Finance and Accounting field, for “Teaching Innovator Award-2016”.

Pro Narayan will be awarded at a ceremony by the MHRD, soon, for his teaching innovation titled “Transitioning from a ‘Teacher-centric’ to a ‘Student-centric’ Classroom and Online Learning”.

Narayan has used the videos of the courses taught by him at IIM Bangalore innovatively. He integrated over 120 videos with MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course) in flipped classroom format for easy learning of students.  

Other than Prof P C Narayan, Prof P D Jose, faculty from the Strategy area and Prof Ramya Ranganathan, from the Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management field at IIMB, were among the 15 finalists for the Award. The premier management institute – IIM Bangalore was the only institution from across the country with three of its faculty among the 15 finalists.

Over 300 applications were received for the Award, of whom 50 were shortlisted for the next round and 15 of them made it to the finals.
