Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to review the implementation and outcomes of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and discuss ways to expand skilling opportunities for the state’s youth.

Sharing details of the meeting, Dharmendra Pradhan said the discussions focused on strengthening the implementation of NEP 2020 and enhancing collaboration to improve education quality and human resource development in Goa. He also emphasized the importance of creating more skill-based learning opportunities aligned with the evolving needs of the workforce.

The meeting comes as the Ministry of Education continues to assess the progress of NEP 2020 across states and higher education institutions. Recently, the minister also held consultations with Vice-Chancellors of Central Universities to review the policy’s impact and strategize its future implementation.

NEP 2020 aims to transform India’s education system through multidisciplinary learning, academic flexibility, vocational integration, and a stronger focus on skill development. Goa has been implementing various aspects of the policy in both school and higher education sectors.

The discussions underscore the Centre’s continued focus on advancing educational reforms, improving learning outcomes, and preparing students with industry-relevant skills to support the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
