The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced that all government and recognized private schools across the Kashmir Valley will observe their summer vacation from July 6 to July 19. The decision has been taken in view of the prevailing weather conditions and the need to ensure the well-being of students, teachers, and school staff during the peak summer period.
According to the official notification, all educational institutions falling under the jurisdiction of DSEK will remain closed throughout the notified vacation. School administrations have been instructed to strictly adhere to the schedule and make necessary arrangements before the commencement of the break. The department has also advised institutions to ensure that any pending academic responsibilities are communicated to students in advance.
The announcement comes as schools across the Valley continue to manage academic activities while balancing seasonal challenges. The vacation is expected to provide students with an opportunity to rest and recharge before classes resume later in July. Parents are encouraged to keep track of any further advisories or updates issued by the education department regarding the reopening of schools or changes to the academic calendar.
Education officials have reiterated that the holiday schedule has been planned to safeguard students’ health and support a conducive learning environment once schools reopen. Authorities may issue additional instructions if weather conditions warrant any changes to the existing plan.
