The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode) has strengthened its presence in Kerala with the inauguration of its new Kochi campus, a move that reflects the institute’s vision of expanding access to high-quality, technology-driven management education. The new facility has been developed as an Urban Learning Centre, bringing globally aligned academic programmes closer to students, working professionals, and industry leaders in the region.

Speaking at the inauguration, Director Debashis Chatterjee described the launch as the beginning of a new phase in the institute’s growth, particularly as IIM Kozhikode approaches its 30th anniversary in 2026. The event also featured Loknath Behera, Managing Director of Kochi Metro Rail Limited, as the Guest of Honour.

Strategically located at Kalamassery next to the Cochin University Metro Station, the campus offers seamless connectivity through the Kochi Metro, major highways, and nearby transport hubs. Its location is expected to make the centre easily accessible for students and professionals across the state.

Developed by Kochi Metro Rail Limited, the six-storey campus spans approximately 40,000 square feet and showcases a contemporary architectural design with extensive use of glass and pre-engineered steel. The facility has been equipped with smart classrooms, advanced digital learning infrastructure, collaborative workspaces, a modern library, a cafeteria, and dedicated interaction zones to create a technology-enabled learning environment.

The new campus builds on the institute’s presence in Kochi, which began in 2012 with the establishment of its satellite centre at Infopark, Kakkanad. With the inauguration of the new facility, IIM Kozhikode aims to further strengthen its engagement with the city’s growing business ecosystem while expanding opportunities for management education.

Academic activities at the campus will initially commence with the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) and the Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP). In the coming years, the institute plans to introduce a wider range of executive education programmes, specialised management courses, professional development initiatives, international collaborations, and digitally enabled learning offerings, positioning the Kochi campus as a key centre for management education and lifelong learning in the region.
