IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur launch industry-focused Bachelor of Cybersecurity Programme

IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur have jointly launched India’s first practice-oriented Bachelor of Cybersecurity (B.Cyber.) programme for the 2026-27 academic session. The four-year undergraduate course is designed to address the growing demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals through a blend of academic learning and industry-oriented technical training.

The programme combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on experience, real-world field deployments, and practical cybersecurity projects. Students will receive training in areas such as cyber defence, ethical hacking, digital forensics, network security, and emerging cyber technologies.

Developed in collaboration with industry and cybersecurity experts, the course aims to bridge the gap between academic education and workforce requirements while strengthening India’s cybersecurity talent pipeline.
