Dr. Raj Ratan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Kurukshetra University (KUK), has been appointed as Deputy Director (Examination Reforms) following a competitive national-level selection process. The appointment marks a significant milestone in his career, which combines experience in the armed forces, higher education and public administration.
Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva congratulated Dr. Raj Ratan on the achievement, describing it as a matter of pride for the university. He expressed confidence that Dr. Raj Ratan’s multidisciplinary background would support initiatives aimed at making examination systems more transparent, efficient and reliable.
Before entering academia, Dr. Raj Ratan served in the Indian Navy for 15 years, where he gained experience in leadership, administration and personnel management. After completing his naval service, he worked with the Higher Education Department of Haryana before joining Kurukshetra University as a faculty member.
An academic specialising in Psychology, Dr. Raj Ratan holds both a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. His research interests include Counselling Psychology and Military Psychology, with a focus on human behaviour in organisational and defence environments.
In his new position, Dr. Raj Ratan will contribute to efforts focused on modernising examination processes, improving administrative efficiency and reinforcing transparency in the conduct of competitive examinations. His role is expected to support reforms that enhance the credibility and fairness of assessment systems across the country.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Raj Ratan said he is honoured to take on the responsibility and looks forward to contributing to the continuous improvement of India’s examination framework. He emphasised that transparent and trustworthy assessment systems are essential for ensuring merit-based public recruitment.
