The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the establishment of three new private universities in Kanpur, Ghaziabad, and Fatehpur, increasing the total number of private universities in the state to 56. The decision aims to expand access to higher education and strengthen academic infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh.

The universities will be established in Bilhaur (Kanpur Nagar), Dasna (Ghaziabad), and Fatehpur, following approval by the Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The move is expected to create more educational opportunities and encourage private investment in the higher education sector.
