Zoho has introduced Classes 2.0, a next-generation AI-powered Learning Management System (LMS) designed to simplify teaching, learning, and campus administration through a single integrated platform. Developed in India, the solution supports all 22 scheduled Indian languages and will be offered free of licensing costs to government schools, colleges, and universities across the country.
A key highlight of the platform is its AI Course Builder, which enables educators to create a complete course in less than 30 seconds using a syllabus, lesson plan, or topic. The tool automatically prepares lesson structures, reading resources, video outlines, assignments with grading rubrics, and assessments while aligning them with Course Outcomes (COs) and Programme Outcomes (POs). Teachers can also schedule content releases, restrict access until required, and choose from more than 100,000 curriculum templates. The platform also supports flipped classroom teaching, allowing students to study learning materials before attending lectures.
For students, Classes 2.0 includes a 24/7 AI Tutor, bite-sized learning modules, and gamified educational experiences to improve engagement. Educational institutions can manage the entire student journey—from admissions to graduation—through the platform. AI-driven analytics help identify learners who may require academic support, while a Low-Code Micro App Builder enables institutions to create customised applications for admissions, curriculum management, and administrative processes without coding expertise.
The platform has been designed to comply with NAAC, NBA, UGC, and NMC accreditation standards while supporting the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Medical colleges also benefit from dedicated features for Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), including competency tracking, clinical logbooks, and audit-ready documentation.
Commenting on the launch, Zoho CEO Mani Vembu said that access to advanced educational technology should not depend on an institution’s financial capacity. He noted that providing free licences to government institutions reflects the company’s commitment to making digital education more inclusive.

Zoho Classes has already established a significant presence, with over 8 million notifications delivered, more than one million assignment submissions, and over 2TB of teacher-created video content hosted on the platform. It is currently being used by institutions such as SRM Institute, Sishya School, Chettinad Health City, Vidya Mandir, and several government education organisations.
The platform is now available across India, with an international rollout planned in the coming months. Individual educators teaching up to 100 students can also use Zoho Classes 2.0 free of charge.
