The Andhra Pradesh government has dissolved the governing bodies (Executive Councils) of 18 state universities, removing all nominated members appointed under Clause-2 during the previous government’s tenure. The Higher Education Department issued the orders as part of an administrative restructuring of the state’s higher education institutions.
The government clarified that ex-officio members serving under Clause-1 will continue in their roles without any changes. The move is aimed at reorganising university governance and introducing fresh administrative oversight across the institutions.

The decision affects major universities, including Andhra University, Sri Venkateswara University, Acharya Nagarjuna University, JNTU Anantapur, JNTU Kakinada, Krishna University, Rayalaseema University, Dravidian University, BR Ambedkar University, and several others.
