Punjab appoints new Vice-Chancellors for two state universities

Punjab has appointed new Vice-Chancellors for two state universities, strengthening academic leadership across the state.

Arvind Kumar Bansal has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Jalandhar, while Dr. Rajinder Kumar Bansal has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot.

Arvind Kumar Bansal is currently a professor at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali. Dr. Rajinder Kumar Bansal, a neurologist, has extensive experience in both the public and private healthcare sectors and is associated with DMCH, Ludhiana.

The appointments were issued by the Punjab Governor’s Secretariat, with Governor Gulab Chand Kataria serving as Chancellor of both universities. Both Vice-Chancellors have been appointed for a three-year term, effective from the date they assume office.

The appointments are expected to provide fresh academic and administrative leadership to the two institutions and support their continued development in technical education and health sciences.
