Prof. V.P. Tiwari takes charge as acting Vice-Chancellor of MNLU Nagpur

Prof. V.P. Tiwari has assumed charge as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Nagpur, marking a transition in the leadership of the institution. He succeeds Prof. Vijender Kumar, the university’s founding Vice-Chancellor.

Prof. Tiwari has been associated with MNLU Nagpur since its establishment and was among its founding faculty members. Over the years, he has taken on several academic and administrative responsibilities, including serving on the Executive Council, Academic Council and Research Committee. He has also contributed to committees overseeing moot courts, internships, curriculum development, examinations and student grievance redressal.

As Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tiwari is expected to focus on strengthening the university’s academic environment and advancing its institutional development. The university’s official website identifies him as Vice-Chancellor.

His priorities include promoting academic excellence, student welfare, quality legal education, research and innovation, while encouraging stronger collaborations at the national and international levels. He has also emphasised the importance of developing students into responsible professionals grounded in integrity, discipline and constitutional values.

The leadership transition comes as MNLU Nagpur continues to expand its academic and research activities, with a focus on strengthening its contribution to India’s legal education ecosystem.
