Teachers in 145 business, technical and vocational institutions are to be trained in the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs).
The training was launched by the education minister, Namirembe Bitamazire, at the Nakawa Vocational Training Institute in Kampala on Tuesday. An agreement was signed between the Government and the UN Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation in January to implement the 16-month project. Dr. Jane Egau Okou, a member of the project steering committee, said the project would also create a master pool of trainers in ICT.
