eAdmissions at Orissa, with college going high tech

With the colleges in Orissa all set to go high-tech with the introduction of an online e-admission system at the Plus-III level in around 53 colleges by the Department of Higher Education in the state, admissions are to go online. Higher Education Secretary Madhusudan Padhi announced the launch of the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) for degree classes

The colleges that are using the new admission procedure are spread across 28 districts. The districts Nuapada and Malkanagiri have been excluded from the system as government degree colleges are yet to be established in Orissa. The validated data will then be uploaded onto the central server and the selection would be done by an application software that has been designed and developed on the basis of the pre-defined selection principles.
