Elets Technomedia Hosts 4th Education Innovation Summit in Pune, Igniting Discussions on Future Learning

The 4th Elets Education Innovation Summit, held on 12th April in Pune, brought together visionaries, thought leaders, and innovators from across the education spectrum to explore and address the evolving challenges and opportunities in the field of education.

The summit, organised by Elets Technomedia, in collaboration with Elets Digital Learning Magazine, offered a unique platform for insightful discussions, networking, and recognition of exemplary contributions to education innovation.

The summit, structured into two dynamic segments focusing on school and higher education domains respectively, featured a comprehensive agenda designed to address the most pressing issues facing educators today. Attendees were treated to a diverse program featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions, industry presentations, and ample networking opportunities.

The inaugural session, graced by Dr. Ravi Gupta, Founder, CEO & Editor-in-Chief of Elets Technomedia, set the tone for the summit, emphasising the need for collaboration and innovation to navigate the evolving landscape of education. “Today marks a significant opportunity as we explore the evolving landscape of education. Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice-Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), delivered a compelling keynote address, highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering innovation in education.

Dr. Jere reiterated the Ministry of Education and AICTE’s commitment to innovation, underscoring initiatives such as the establishment of an innovation cell and the appointment of a Chief Innovation Officer. “We established an innovation cell and appointed a Chief Innovation Officer even before the launch of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. I am proud to serve as the first Chief Innovation Officer,” he said.

He emphasised the government’s role in integrating innovation at a ministerial level, ensuring that technical institutes evolve into hubs of educational innovation.

Dr. Jere further highlighted that as Vice Chairman of AICTE, his focus is on seamlessly integrating innovation with technical education. “Our policies are designed to support technical institutes in becoming hubs of educational innovation, Our central agenda, backed by strong support from the Prime Minister and initiatives like the Smart India Hackathon, fosters a culture of innovation across all technical institutes, making them central to our national educational strateg,” he said.

The higher education segment featured panel discussions focusing on leadership amidst technological disruption, interdisciplinary approaches, inclusive learning environments, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and building resilient education systems. The speaker line-up included Tarun Anand, Founder & Chancellor, Universal AI University, Mumbai, Maharashtra; Prof. V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chancellor, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai, Maharashtra; Dr. Sayalee Gankar, Vice Chancellor, DY Patil University, Pune, Maharashtra; Maharashtra; Dr. Sushma Kulkarni, Vice-Chancellor, NICMAR University, Pune, Maharashtra; Swapnil Ajmera, Account Director, Coursera, and more.

In the school segment, distinguished panelists from leading educational institutions across India discussed crucial topics includimng strategies for educational leadership, leveraging neuroeducation, integrating AI into teaching practices, and the critical role of early childhood education. The speaker line-up in the school education track included Sudhir Kukreja, Co-Founder & CEO, Kidzonia International PreSchools & Credence International Schools, Mumbai, Maharashtra; Sandeepan Reddy, Founder & Chairman, Synergy Group of Schools, Mumbai, Maharashtra; Rajendra Singh, CEO, Priyadarshani Group of Schools, Pune, Maharashtra; Anjali Sood, Sr. Vice President, Vibgyor Group of Schools, Mumbai, Maharashtra; Dr. Nikhil Wagh, Chairman And Founder, Educon International School, Pune, Maharashtra, and others.

In a dynamic series of industry presentations, industry experts shed light on the diverse learning preferences of students and the evolving landscape of digital education. Piyush Keshav, Chairman and CEO, ReadFirst, emphasised the importance of recognising and adapting to various learning styles to accommodate every student, irrespective of their academic standing. He highlighted the need for fostering an environment that encourages critical thinking and creativity, moving away from rote memorisation.

Avinash Sharma, BDM – West at Samsung, underscored the transformative power of digitalisation in education, outlining Samsung’s commitment to developing comprehensive solutions tailored to the needs of educational institutions.

He emphasised Samsung’s role as a technology leader in pioneering interactive and smart learning environments, driven by continuous innovation in both hardware and software solutions. “We’re involved in every aspect, from hardware to software solutions, catering to diverse teaching requirements. Continuously innovating, we strive to develop specific components and technologies to enhance the educational experience,” Avinash said.

Kiran S, Manager – Business Development at CodeChef, highlighted the platform’s specialisation in computing verification and its impact on skill enhancement for students and professionals alike. “With a focus on learning and practice through coding contests, CodeChef aims to build robust profiles for future career opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development,” he said.
