Project-based learning and telecollaboration in Chinese Schools by UNESCO

UNESCO organised a workshop at Bangkok – ICT in Education Programme – under the Facilitating ICT-Pedagogy Integration Project took place in Guangzhou, China during July 27-30, 2010, in collaboration with South China Normal University and the Educational Information Centre of Guang dong Province. The Korean Funds-In-Trust funded this 'Capacity-Building Workshop on Project-Based Learning and Telecollaboration' and introduced teachers to the Facilitating ICT-Pedagogy Integration Project, and expanded their horizons on the use of ICT-enhanced project-based learning and telecollaboration.

There were nearly 100 participants including teachers from 15 schools in Guangzhou and nearby areas, officials from the Educational Information Centre of Guangdong Province, and teacher educators from South China Normal University, attended the four-day training. The workshop commenced with participants gaining understanding about the components of the KFIT project: capacity building of teachers on ICT-pedagogy integration; designing and facilitating student-centred ICT-based activities; strengthening partnership between teacher educators and teachers; and developing of a whole-school support strategy on ICT integration in Education.
