Principals and teachers from schools across the city attended the Seminar in large numbers where they were apprised with the current trends in today's digital learning age and also introduced to technology based solutions designed to meet the challenges faced by teachers. The Seminar provided a rare opportunity to the schools to witness a brand new paradigm in digital learning globally. Speaking on the occasion, Naveen Sinha, Associate Vice President, Educomp Solutions Ltd, said, 'There is an urgent need in today's knowledge age to supplement traditional methods of learning in classrooms with multimedia applications to enhance a child's educational experience. IT can empower the teacher by providing her with additional education tools within the classroom.'

Innovative use of technology in teaching methodologies stands validated world wide as an effective way to improve academic standards of students. Increasingly teachers are realising the value of technology to explain complex concepts to their students in a more effective and interesting manner. In India, while technology has had a major impact in almost all aspects of life, the impact on education is still minimal and restricted to select schools. However, the stage now seems to be set for rapid adoption with schools in smaller towns showing keen interest in adopting latest in education technology. Educomp unveiled some of their latest innovations in classroom teaching on the occasion including the latest version of Smartclass with Smart Assessment System and interactive digiboard that allows the teacher to project images, animations and videos on a large touchscreen panel and also write with virtual ink on the board with an electronic pen.

Educomp Smartclass is credited with improving teacher effectiveness and productivity, bringing abstract and difficult curriculum concepts to life, making learning an enjoyable experience for students, enabling multi-sensory learning in classrooms, improving academic performance of students and enabling instant assessment of learning outcomes in class.

The program enables teachers to use digital resources such as graphics, animations, 3 D Images and Video clips in addition to the chalk and talk methods of teaching in their day to day teaching life. This results in a completely new multi sensory learning experience for students and helps them to improve their academic performance. The Smartclass content repository consists of thousands of highly animated, lesson specific, 3D and 2D multimedia modules built with an Instructor-led design that allows the teacher to effectively transact the lesson in a typical classroom of diverse set of learners. 'Smartclass is a new age technology movement that is fast becoming an imperative for schools. Soon it will touch every class and every progressive school in India' added Naveen Sinha. Currently over 5 million children in over 4500 progressive schools spread in almost all districts in India are studying through Educomp Smartclass program installed in their classrooms.
