Mahender Pratap Singh, Director, Rose Mary’s Public School, Rajasthan: School Fees in Pandemic Times 2020

Rose Mary's Public School

Frankly, this is the most debated topic in recent times of pandemic. Well first the root cause of this is the economic turn down experienced across all kinds of platforms. Whether is it a country, organization or individuals? Let us agree this pandemic has brought in devastating impacts which is yet to felt further.

Children are the future of the world and all are in acceptance of the same. Globally the schools are gradually opening with acute measures on control. Eventually this has to happen in India as well. As the phrase ongoing we have to change our ways of living and accept the facts. At the onset the fees collection is quite subjective topic based on the financial conditions prevailing in the country. The objective is imparting education to the pupils and this should be the sole target for institutions across the globe. However, the expenses to run such institutes are as well to be thought parallel. In case of exemption high chances of institutes closing or compromise on quality of education as unable to bear expenses and in case of collection the parents may find it difficult to keep a balance.

I will strongly favour to find a midway which is acceptable at all levels. The School Fees should be directed as procedure however with flexibility in discounting, instalments and waiver on the fees should be educating among the parents. This will support both parent and institutes involved and we make move forward collectively.
