HRD Ministry launches report on e-learning initiatives

In the light of Coronavirus epidemic, the Union human resource development minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has launched a report on various e-learning initiatives taken by the central and state governments.

The report elaborates innovative methods adopted by states and union territories for ensuring the accessibility of education to children.

The report titled, ‘India Report Digital Education’ has been prepared by the department of school education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, document various remote learning initiatives through the use of digital technology across the country.

Union HRD Minister announcing the launch of the report, wrote on Twitter: Glad to launch India Report on #DigitalEducation, 2020 today. The report elaborates on the innovative methods adopted by Education Departments of States and Union Territories for ensuring accessible and inclusive #education to children at home and reducing learning gaps.”

The report highlights how states have initiated programs using capabilities and solutions on DIKSHA platform. As per the report, “Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Punjab, Ladakh, Telangana and Tripura have all initiated work on DIKSHA.

School closure has energised these States to leverage DIKSHA for online training of teachers & for launching programs to ensure continuity in the learning of students.”
