The Delhi government has announced the results of the Schools of Specialized Excellence (SoSE). The students can check the official website of SoSE.
The students were invited to apply for SoSEs last month (August 12). However, the admission process will start from today. The last date to submit the application was August 19. A total of 26,687 registrations were made for four types of SoSEs. They are for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts and High-end 21st Century Skills.
The aptitude tests were organised from August 27-31 across 67 centres. A total of 14,245 students took the tests and from that 2,794 students were selected through the process and have been offered admission to in the STEM, Humanities and High-end 21st Century Skills schools.
The final results for Performing and Visual Arts School will be announced next week.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia congratulated all the students and said, “In the SoSEs, the role of the teachers is going to change, and he/she will become a facilitator of learning for every student. Gradually, all the schools in Delhi will follow this model and adopt a learner-centric education system.”
The admission in the STEM schools are offered only for classes 9 and 11. However, in the rest of the schools, it will be for Class 9 only. A total of 960 students have been offered admission to 8 STEM schools in Class 9 and 814 students have been selected for Class 11.
Schools of Specialized Excellence is a platform to nurture students, boost talent and excel in areas of their specialised interests.
