The National Credit Framework has broadened the scope of the credit system of educational institutions and has opened a wide range of options for students. What will be the impact of the new framework on the Indian education system?
The National Credit Framework has not only increased the scope of the credit system of educational institutions but also opened a wide range of options for students by which they can earn credits through their practical real-time task based learning and its outcomes as a result based on student system interaction and participation. Earlier, credits were only awarded to students based on understanding or cramming of reading matter but not on the basis of experience and participation in extra-curricular activities. The new system of education will increase student focus and interest in the new practical-oriented approaches which can take students to high-end career opportunities.
Recently, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) started the National Mission of Mentoring (NMM) in Pilot mode in 30 Central Schools across the nation. What is your thought on such initiatives?
Mentoring as we know is a powerful tool for the professional growth and development of an individual. Effective mentoring programs not only change teacher attitude towards the education system but also increase their focus on student learning and result which is totally based on teacher, student, school management, and education policies of the Government. Teachers’ effective contribution, knowledge, and experience can give birth to innovative and effective combinations of theory, practical, sports, and cultural, skills, and interactions with professionals and industries. Mentoring gives a real impact on teacher retention rates, job satisfaction, and overall instructional quality.
Teaching in native languages aligns with the National Education Policy. Do you calculate Punjabi as a language while learning and teaching at your school?
Yes, we calculate Punjabi as a language while learning and teaching at our school because the native language always gives a better understanding of the topic to students without extraordinary efforts as a student is used to the native language.
‘People with Purpose’ – This has a deep sense of understanding to change the way students learn. How is AP International School implementing the same at its campus?
AP International School also focuses on a conceptual and practical-oriented study system based on extra curriculum activities and student-industry interactions programs which not only give a better understanding of the subject as well as increase student interest in studies and enhance knowledge of different career opportunities.
