In collaboration with the Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA) and Verdant & Co, HP has launched the HP Innovation & Digital Education Academy (HP IDEA) in India. This program is designed to equip educators with advanced digital teaching skills, transforming the delivery of lessons and enhancing the educational experience for students in CBSE schools across the nation.
Tailored for the modern digital era, HP IDEA addresses the evolving needs of teachers and students by providing extensive training and resources, enabling educators to thrive in a technology-enhanced teaching environment.
Ipsita Dasgupta, SVP & Managing Director of HP India, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative: “Promoting digital equity is fundamental to HP’s vision for the future. We are excited to introduce HP IDEA in India and anticipate its positive impact on educators and students throughout the country, transforming educational methods and enriching student learning experiences.”
Priyanka Arya, Director and COO of CENTA, commented on the partnership: “CENTA’s extensive network and deep understanding of what teachers need position us ideally to partner with HP IDEA. We are dedicated to offering outstanding professional development for teachers. Backed by HP Inc., HP IDEA represents a significant international endeavour, and we look forward to implementing it in over 20 cities across India.”
Christine Kerlin Nasserghodsi, Managing Partner at Verdant & Co, also noted the transformative nature of the initiative: “Our launch of HP IDEA in India, in partnership with CENTA, marks a crucial step towards enhancing educational methods and increasing access. This initiative not only promotes advanced digital pedagogy but also equips educators with essential skills for 21st-century teaching. Our joint effort will empower teachers and students, ushering in a new era of educational excellence.”
Aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), HP IDEA plans to impact 50 schools in India, benefiting around 5,000 teachers and 50,000 students. The program focuses on providing educators with the most recent tools and best practices in teaching and learning.
Schools participating in HP IDEA can choose between two pathways: the HP IDEA Fellow, a year-long in-depth program for select educators and leaders, and the HP IDEA Associate, which offers specific interventions for all staff members, helping them become HP IDEA Associates through training conducted by HP IDEA Fellows.
As part of HP’s broader commitment to fostering digital equity for 150 million people by 2030, HP IDEA has already seen substantial global success, benefiting over a million students and teachers across 32 cohorts in 23 countries and seven languages. The program incorporates top-tier research and educational frameworks from prestigious institutions such as Harvard Graduate School of Education and the University of Michigan to deliver state-of-the-art educational practices.
