The Delhi Government has warned students and parents against 12 fake education boards operating in the national capital.
“There is no state board of government of Delhi. Further, the Directorate of Education (DoE), which regulates government, private, unaided and aided schools in Delhi, does not grant any recognition to any board,” a DoE order said.
“As far as Delhi is concerned, there are only three relevant boards — Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE) and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS),” it said.
Identifying the fake boards, DoE has prepare a list of fake boards which include Urdu Education Board, Gramin Mukth Vidhalyai Shiksha Sansthan, Delhi Board of Secondary Education, The Central Board of Higher Secondary Education, National Open School and Board of Secondary Open Education, Delhi, Higher Secondary Education Board of Delhi, State Council of Senior Secondary Open Education, Delhi Board of Senior Secondary Education, Board of Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, Council of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, and The Central Board of Higher Education, Delhi.
Bihar is soon going to facilitate the admissions to various degree courses through an online system.
In a notice issued by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), Patna, all the principals recognised degree colleges in the State has been informed to conduct the admission to degree courses of students qualified in the Bihar Board’s Intermediate exam online from the upcoming academic session.
The one window online system will enable students to apply to different colleges in one place.
Till now in the admission process, students appeared in Bihar Board had to apply for every college separately causing a lot of inconvenience to students and involving more money.
The admission process was also not supposed as the transparent one which was unfair to meritorious students and those who came from an economically weaker background.
The online registration system for admission to degree colleges will be implemented by the State Government keeping the welfare of students in mind.
BSEB has activated the link for Online Facilitation System for Students (OFSS) on its official website, where currently the principals of each degree college have to upload data regarding subject information (degree), facility information, last year application fee, prospectus cost etc by May 10, 2018.
The National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) has rolled out comprehensive recommendations to all schools and parents regarding the cyber security, as part of efforts to encourage a secure, ethical and legal way for students to use Internet.
The detailed guidelines have been issued to schools defining the role of teachers as well as parents in promoting safe, legal, and ethical use of internet by students.
The guideline mentions that a person, who has the permission, can access the computer labs, the use of USBs has been prohibited. Along with this, the guideline also mentions that there should be a check on the unknown and the strange icons which are visible on the desktop.
The council has instructed the schools to commence courses as well as activities for students and teachers to train them on various features of cyber security. Teachers have also been requested to observe students for changes in their attitudes and behaviour.
The instructional manual stated: “Students should not log in as someone else to read their e-mails or mess with their online profiles, attempt to infect or in any way try to make someone else’s computer unusable and download any attachments from an unknown source as they may contain viruses.”

Ebix, a $2.5 billion corporation headquartered in Georgia, US, in a bid to gain significant reputation in India’s $30 billion digital education market has acquired majority stake in SmartClass Educational, its 11th acquisition in India in less than a year.
Ebix has already deployed around $300 million to acquire several payments, forex, remittance, and travel companies and is now close on acquiring one of the leaders in the digital education market for K-12 education in India.
Recently, Ebix emerged as the highest bidder for Educomp Solutions Limited. Acquisition of Smartclass Educational is important in many ways as the company has a strong sales and distribution team of over 500 people. A ready-made sales and marketing team will help the Ebix to operate well in India and to push its other products into the country from its US headquarters.
In digital education market of India, Ebix will go head to head with companies such as Byju – A renowned name in this sector with the market of over 250 million consumers.
“It will all depend upon the quality of the educational solution and footprint into schools. The fact is that while Educomp faced debt-related issues, it does have huge goodwill and acquired an early start in the digital classroom market, something an investor with deep pockets can turn around,” said a person involved with the negotiations on condition of anonymity.
The Indian government in the latest budget proposals has announced a $5 billion outlay for equipping every classroom in government schools with SmartBoards.
To ensure finding results and other exam-related information easier and reliable on its search engine, Google has partnered with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The first result which was made public after this partnership was JEE Main exam. Now the students will be able to find their scores safely and flawlessly. This feature can be used on smartphones as well as on desktop using Google search.
The CBSE and Google have worked in coordination with each other to protect the data to be used for the exclusive cause of showing the results of various examinations on its Search Page.
“We are collaborating with Google for smooth dissemination of results through an easy and secure platform,” the CBSE said in an official statement.
The feature will be live only for a short duration.
The Google has also worked closely with the CBSE to ensure that the data is handled securely and used solely for the purpose of showing the results on its Search page.
With over 260 million students enrolled in more than 1.5 million schools across India, said Shilpa Agrawal, Product Manager, Google Search, “we believe having reliable, seamless, and safe access to education-related information is crucial”.
JEE Main Result 2018 has been announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Candidates must note that the result announced on April 30 is of Paper I of JEE Main 2018 whereas the result for paper II will be announced on May 31.
In order to check the result of JEE Main 2018, the candidates have to click on the link given below or follow the steps mentioned at the end of the article.
The result of JEE Main 2018 will enable candidates to check their section-wise score, All India Rank, category-wise rank, and the cutoff score for JEE Advanced 2018. The score card and All India Ranks are also available time along with the result of JEE Main 2018.
Candidates, who have appeared for the national level engineering entrance test – JEE Main in second and third week of the April, will only be able to check result. The result of JEE Main is the basis of admissions to undergraduate courses of NITs, IIITs and GFTIs as well the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced.
For academic year 2018-19, as many as 2,24,000 top candidates of JEE Main 2018 will be qualified to appear in JEE Advanced 2018 whereas only top 2,20,000 candidates of JEE Main were allowed appear for JEE Advanced till 2017.
Students of government schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh are performing better than those in aided schools last year, revealed a survey conducted by the National Council of Educational Research And Training (NCERT).
According to the NCERT survey, the average performance of class three students of government school was 65.59 per cent whereas in aided schools the same was 65.53 per cent.
The government school students of class five outperformed the students of aided schools by a margin of 25 per cent for the same subject, the survey stated.
In language subject, the average performance of government school students for Class three, five and eight were 69.78 per cent, 68.21 per cent and 57.84 per cent respectively whereas the students in aided-schools for the same classes were 63.14 per cent, 50.94 per cent and 54.17 per cent respectively.
The Survey also stated that the students of class three in aided-schools performed better in Mathematics than those of in government schools. However, the performance of class 5 government school students was remarkably well in in the same subject with a 20-per cent lead over aided-school students.
The survey also revealed that boys outperformed girls in the district with a narrow margin in the three classes in language subject as well.
“We are making efforts to improve the quality of education at government schools. Parents-teachers meetings have shown good response,” said Basic Shiksha Adhikari of Gautam Buddha Nagar district Bal Mukund Prasad.
