US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has proposed $128 million loan for distance learning and telemedicine projects in rural communities of US.
USDA has already invested more than $166 million in its Distance Learning and Telemedicine Programme, which facilitates around 4000 educational and 2,000 health care institutions to expand their access to telecommunications technology. Rural residents will be able to take advantage of a variety of health care services and education programs with these systems in place. The distance learning program finances equipment to expand educational resources for students and educational institutions in isolated rural areas.
