Singapore based institutional investor company, Orient Global is looking at private schools for children from low income families of India.
The company is planning to invest $100 million educational sector of India. The company is looking for investment opportunities in private schools, which are running in slums. The company has already invested $1.1 billion in India's financial sector. Orient has tied up with microfinance providers, like Hyderabad's SKS Microfinance and Basix, to offer loans to entrepreneurs who wish to open schools in low-income areas. The fund will also scout for opportunities in China as well as sub-Saharan Africa.
