New alliances are becoming a trend in the e-learning domain to scale-up product outreach. Keeping the trend is Macmillan Publishers India alliance with Eudurite Technologies to introduce animation-based e-content in 18,000 Indian schools.
Digitally, a software developed by Edurite Technologies, the Indian arm of the UK-based online education services company TutorVista is the platform on which Macmillan has introduced animation-based syllabus-based content. The audio-video effects are customized to the prescribed syllabus by the state boards, CBSE and ICSE to make classroom teaching more fun. Macmillan has a base in 15,000 schools and 'A combination of Edurite's 'technology-driven learning methods' and Macmillan's proven strengths in providing quality content and its vast presence' will 'do the trick for Indian classrooms,' said Mr Alok Lahoti, senior vice-president (sales and marketing) at Macmillan. So far, the company has approached 20 schools in Bengal and the response has been encouraging.
