Over 113,000 forms were submitted more than double the number of seats in Delhi University colleges for various graduate and post-graduate courses, varsity officials said on Monday, the last day of form submissions. A total of 115,149 forms were sold at the 16 centres spread across the Delhi University campus. This figure is more than double the number of seats the university has on offer for its various graduate and post-graduate courses.
The sale and receipt of forms for admissions to 47 courses and 63 colleges was open for 15 days till Monday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. However, to accommodate the last day's rush, officials kept the centres open till 4 p.m. The streets of the varsity's campuses in the north and the south of the capital for the past fortnight were dotted with enthusiastic varsity aspirants and their parents. On the last day, however, many grew wary about their chances. The submitted forms will now be scrutinized for different colleges and the first cut-off list will be announced on June 25.
