While the placements at the premier engineering colleges in the country have taken a hit in the wake of the global economic meltdown, the IITs, it seems, have some cause for cheer. The recession has boosted the demand for post-graduate courses in the IITs, which usually play second fiddle to their more sought-after undergraduate counterparts that attract lakhs of aspirants every year. With the lucrative job offers drying up, many IIT graduates have chosen to enrol in the PG courses this year.
