
A team of top women executives in the information and communication technology sector from the U.S. is visiting India this week with an aim to increase the number of women in ICT professions and academia.
The delegation is led by Alyssa Ayres, U.S. Department of State’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia.
The delegation will be visiting the national capital New Delhi and the country’s technology hub Bangalore. It will hold meetings with leading companies, foundations, educational institutions and government ministries engaged in promoting ICT.
The effort has been taken up by the U.S. Department of State along with the Institute of International Education (IIE), public sector, private sector and civil society organizations.
Apart from Ms. Ayres, the delegation includes Jacky Wright, Microsoft, Vice President, Strategic Enterprise Services; Shawn Covell, Qualcomm, Vice President of Government Affairs; Jane Chwick, Managing Director IT, Goldman Sachs; Kumud Srinivasan, President, Intel India.
