
Delhi University has announced guidelines for students seeking admission in four-year undergraduate programme under sports category. As per guidelines, five percent seats will be reserved in all Delhi University colleges for the students aiming for admission in the combined category of sports and extra-curricular activities (ECA) on supernumerary basis. There will be two-step admissions – in the super category and trial category. Students who have represented on an international level would fall in the super category and thus qualify for direct admission. For remaining students, they would have to undergo fitness tests followed by sports trial.
The students would have to go through three tests – strength, endurance and speed.Joint dean of students’ welfare Malay Neerav stated, these sports trials will be of maximum 50 marks with sports certificates and also having a maximum of 50 marks. Out of 50, student has to achieve a minimum of 18 marks in sports trial. Only those students will be eligible for this quota who has achieved distinction in sports in last three years by Association of Indian Universities and Indian Olympic Association.
