
In a drive to empower the state’s one lakh youth, out of which 22,000 are women, Devender Fadnavis, Chief Minister, Maharashtra, held a freewheeling interaction with 500 generation-next women, highlighting the significance of skill development and its impact on growth & development.
This model would be replicated in other cities across the state. The programme ‘Skill Sakhi’ is a part of the Government’s mission to undertake skill development training as a big step towards empowerment of women in diverse fields.
It is generally seen that large number of women remain unemployed even after completing graduation. This can be due to sticking to old perceptions and wanting a government job with an assured post- retirement pension. Now, women need to reconcile to modern changes.
Moreover, our country’s large population can be an asset as there is a huge pool of young people with an average age of 29 years.
