In a major development, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a notice confirming its decision to resume evaluation work from home. The board stated that the answer sheets would be transported to the homes of the evaluators for evaluation.
The board has been allowed to open the 3000 evaluation centres for coordinating work by the Home Ministry. The evaluation centers identified by the board would be functional for the limited purpose of work associated with evaluation of answer sheets.
The notification clarifies that the answer sheets would not be sent to the evaluators’ residences in the identified containment zones.
CBSE had started the evaluation work for the 10th and 12th board examinations 2020 within a week from the commencement of the exams. The evaluation work for the many subjects was still underway when the assessment work was stopped on March 18 due to lockdown.
With many lockdown measures eased across various parts of the country, CBSE has now decided to resume the evaluation work. As per reports, all assistant head examiners would also be employed in the evaluation work.
It is expected that the existing answer sheet evaluation work would be completed by end of May or latest by early June.
