
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, on Tuesday, directed the National Bal Bhavan, an autonomous institute, to organize national awards for children.
The minister said that the awards will motivate and encourage the children’s overall development.
Pokhriyal was speaking at the review meeting for the National Bal Bhavan. Pokhriyal, through his official social media account, said: “I advised the officials to start felicitating children by organizing ‘Children’s Awards’ at a national level to motivate them and encourage their overall development, creative energy, and positive growth.”

The minister said that he also reviewed the grants, expenditures and other programmes at the institute. Pokhriyal said : “I looked into the details of grants or expenditures of National Bal Bhavan and the proposal of three years programmes (2020-22).I also reviewed the posts, and vacancies of National Bal Bhavan and multiple activities lined up for 2020.”
Nishank said that National Bal Bhawan is a great platform for our children to learn various creative activities and we should expand its activities in regional centres also so that more children get benefit of this platform. He said that in order to promote creative activities among children National Bal Bhawan should start a national level award for children and directed officials to make a plan on this matter.
