MHA announces guidelines

The Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the Unlock 5.0 Guidelines which allowed for partial reopening of schools in graded manner until 30th November 2020. In line with the earlier guidelines, state governments have been empowered to decide on reopening of schools in line with the guidelines released on 30th Sept, as not major changes have been made to the guidelines.

As per the Unlock 5.0 Guidelines released by the Central Government in Sept, all schools were given in-principal permission to reopen, with due permission from their respective state governments. The MHA order on Unlock Guidelines asked state government to assess the local prevailing situation and decide on reopening of schools in accordance with that. State Governments have to take the decision to reopen schools and educational institutions in their states based on the assessment of the situation and subject to SOPs.

Following this, many state governments has decided to reopen schools in their states partially or fully and many others including Uttarakhand and Rajasthan are still in the process to implement it. Educational Institutions that have been allowed to reopen in the state include schools and coaching institutes and state and private universities for research scholars allowing gatherings above the limit of 100.
