
Following in the footsteps of central and international boards, the Maharashtra government announced the cancellation of its class X examination. While the class X board examinations are cancelled, the class XII examinations remain postponed.

Public health minister Rajesh Tope after the cabinet meeting said that class X exams will not be held instead all students will be promoted to class XI. However, the decision whether to conduct assessment will be taken by the school education department.

He also said that class XII examination will be held once the Covid situation gets improved.
Meanwhile, school education minister Varsha Gaikwad on social media stated, “Given the worsening situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra government has now decided to cancel the state board exams for class 10th. Health and safety of students and teachers is our topmost priority.”
