The international competition in mathematics, BRICSMATH.COM+, is a platform for school students from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Indonesia and Vietnam to come together and participate online. The competition is meant to promote creativity, develop students’ logic skills, improve concentration, broaden their minds and has helped to strengthen ties and create a sense of unification among seven countries in the fields of culture, education and innovation. The competition has been regularly held since 2017, and during this time more than five million schoolchildren have taken part in it.
In 2021, the BRICSMATH.COM+ competition will be held for the fifth time and is dedicated to the 13th BRICS Summit that will take place in India. The preparatory round for the competition started on April 5, and is available for the students of grades 1-12. The online competition is held in all official languages of the participating countries. For India, the tasks are available in English and Hindi. Participants are able to start completing tasks on any day convenient for them until May 30. On May 31, all the participants of the preparatory round of the competition will receive certificates according to their preliminary results. The competition is free of charge and available after registration on the BRICSMATH.COM website. The organiser of the competition is the educational online platform DinoLab. In India the competition is organised in the support of Atal Innovation Mission (NitiAayog) and FICCI Arise.

The preparatory round consists of the best tasks of the past years and provides an opportunity for students to practice. The tasks are created by methodologists according to age-appropriate levels of complexity and are designed in a child-friendly game form. The main goal of the competition is to develop students’ logic skills, improve concentration, broaden their minds, and help them understand some basic concepts that they can apply in real life. Students completing BRICSMATH.COM+ tasks try new non-standard approaches, learn to analyse and look for rational solutions, and develop their logical reasoning skills. The project will bring together students from various backgrounds who have a passion for math on one platform.
It is an exciting global opportunity to hone the mathematical abilities of students from all grades.
Every year the participants of the competition show consistently higher results. On average, the students score more than 52 points out of 70 and the best results are obtained by students from grades 1–4 and 12.
All students have to be registered by their parents or teachers, who will need to select the country, language and class to register themselves on the website and then add the students to the class list. Individual login and password credentials will then be generated for every participant to log into their profiles and solve the tasks.
