
Rajya Sabha MP Dharmendra Pradhan is the new education minister after the cabinet reshuffle that took place on Wednesday. Pradhan has been handling the petroleum ministry during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s second term, and will now take care of education and skill development.
The new education minister Pradhan has taken over the charge from Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, who resigned on Wednesday from the position.
Fifty-two-year-old Mr Pradhan is the son of former Minister of State Debendra Pradhan. He was promoted as a Cabinet Minister in September 2017. He represents Madhya Pradesh in Rajya Sabha and was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha.
