
The Tamil Nadu government has released procedures for reopening schools in the state. Standard operating procedures (SOPs) are issued by the government to start classes.
The classes 9 to 12 will reopen from September 1, 2021. The schools will reopen with fifty percent strength. Students and staff working in schools will have to follow COVID guidelines as per the SOP released.
The staff and teachers should also be vaccinated and the entry will be prohibited for any symptomatic teachers, non-teaching staff and students.

The government said all schools will be screened by the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) teams and other PHC teams will also mobilize and keep a check on it.
All Covid protocols should be maintained in schools such as wearing masks, social distancing, well-sanitized schools including others. All entry and exit COVID protocols should be followed by the school’s staff, teachers and students.
Recently, Tamil Nadu recorded 1,804 fresh COVID-19 cases. A total of 25,92,436 cases were reported. The death toll rose to 34,579 with the addition of 32 new fatalities on Tuesday. Around 20,225 active infections currently in the state.
