Schools in Assam are expected to reopen from next week. The cabinet has decided to reopen regular classes for 10th standards from September 20.
This was confirmed by Assam’s Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu on Thursday.
The state government will soon release an SOP that will mandate the way the schools need to operate in the classrooms. All schools will have to follow COVID protocols strictly.
The schools will have to divide the students so that proper social distancing is maintained. The classrooms will have to be sanitized, cleaned and maintain all necessary hygiene.
The state government will review the situation after ten days and further decisions will be taken in the continuity of offline classes. If everything seems fine then the other classes are likely to start offline classes.
The Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) has already resumed classes for 12th standard from September 1 onwards.
The schools need to introduce and focus on providing vaccination to students, staff, non-staff and all teachers soon.
