In an ambitious endeavour to enhance educational quality, the Prayagraj Smart City project is set to revolutionise 48 government primary schools under the jurisdiction of the UP Basic Education Council by integrating digital smart classrooms. This initiative aims to invigorate teaching and learning practices within these institutions. Prayagraj Smart City Limited is spearheading this effort, with plans to initiate the bid process following the lifting of the model code of conduct, as stated by officials.
The project, entering its fourth phase, seeks to leverage ICT tools to bolster the educational infrastructure in Prayagraj’s government schools. This strategic move is expected to empower educators with modern teaching methodologies, courtesy of the collaboration between Prayagraj Smart City Limited and the local Education Department.
A key aspect of this initiative is selecting an adept agency tasked with bringing the smart school vision to fruition, enhancing both the educational environment and student outcomes through advanced technologies. The upgrade includes the installation of projectors, speakers, uninterrupted power supplies, and essential networking equipment to facilitate a dynamic and interactive learning experience. Furthermore, the chosen agency will assume responsibility for maintaining these digital facilities over five years, ensuring sustainability. They will also provide crucial training for teachers to utilise the new technology adeptly.
Deepak Pandey, Assistant Finance and Accounts Officer at Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, highlighted ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure across primary and upper primary government schools. The schools slated for this digital makeover span various locales, including Rajapur, Old Katra, Mehendauri, and many others, indicating a widespread impact aimed at transforming the educational landscape in Prayagraj.
