In a significant step toward implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSE&L), Ministry of Education, has introduced the Baalpan Ki Kavita Initiative. This program aims to restore and promote Indian nursery rhymes and poems, emphasising early childhood education, multilingual learning, and cultural heritage.
As part of this initiative, DoSE&L, in collaboration with MyGov, invites contributions for a compendium of nursery rhymes and poems in all Indian languages and English. The goal is to provide children with engaging, culturally relevant, and contextually meaningful poems that foster a joyful learning experience in their mother tongue during the foundational years.
The competition is open for submissions from March 26, 2025, to April 22, 2025, on the MyGov website (www.mygov.in). Participants can contribute:
- Traditional rhymes from folklore (with proper attribution to the original author, if known).
- Newly composed joyful poems for children.
